We had an absolutely fantastic day. The trains ran on time, the journeys were all peaceful and efficient and the trains were all extremely clean. Verona was beautiful and we had enough time to see all the sites on our own and go shopping too! The highlight of the day was undoubtedly Venice and our gondola ride. I particularly liked the commentary on "Can Grande" (Big Dog), a Veronese historic figure. Then there was free time for shopping and lunch. There's great shopping and dining in Verona, which I never would have known about. Then we went to the Lake Garda town of Sirmione which is beautiful. “This is a long day but perfect if you are short on time and want to see as much as possible! It involved a whole lot of walking on cobblestone streets and stairs. Tour guide knew her way around but sometimes moved very quickly and even lost some of the group for awhile and we had to call her and have her come back and get us. Then we had to move very fast and barely caught our train back home! Be sure to get tour guides phone number just in case you get lost!”
